Job summary

SouthEast Bank in Chattanooga seeks a loan officer to evaluate, approve, or recommend loans. You will meet with applicants to gather information, analyze financial status and collateral, and explain loan options. You will stay current with regulations and prepare documentation for credit decisions.

You will collaborate with credit analysts and other departments to ensure compliant, timely processing and build strong customer relationships in the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, or Economics, preferred.
• 1-3 years of lending experience, preferred.
• 1 year of customer service experience, preferred.
• Combination of education and experience, preferred.
• Must be able to work with all levels of senior management.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Meet with applicants to obtain information for loan applications, complete information on loan forms and answer questions about the process.
• Analyze the applicants financial status, credit history, and any collateral available including the use of property evaluations to determine feasibility.
• Explain to customers the different types of loans and terms available.
• Review loan agreements to ensure completeness and accuracy per compliance standards.
• Approve loans within specified limits or refer to management for approval.
• Submit applications to credit analysts for verification and recommendation.
• Negotiate payment arrangements with customers and compute payment schedules.
• Develop referral networks to locate loan prospects and work with other bank departments.
