Job summary

Metabolon, Inc. in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a highly strategic business development professional to prospect, drive, and close opportunities across biopharma, consumer products, agriculture, animal health, wellness, and academic/government research.

This role requires building a robust revenue pipeline, presenting Metabolon’s metabolomics capabilities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams; travel 50-60% to support customers and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field required; advanced degrees preferred.
• 3-5+ years BD in life sciences services with a proven track record.
• Experience in the ‘omics space or metabolomics core lab highly desirable.
• Demonstrated strategic selling proficiency; professional sales training preferred.
• Proven ability to lead commercial contracts and negotiate with universities or industry.

Responsibilities

• Meet quarterly and annual bookings targets through territory planning and prospecting.
• Identify customer/market needs and advocate Metabolon’s technology.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to pursue and close revenue opportunities.
• Proactively build revenue pipeline through independent prospecting and lead generation.
• Build relationships with key opinion leaders to position Metabolon’s technology.
• Form and maintain relationships to build pipeline for new and repeat business.
• Collaborate with sales leadership to outline opportunities and mobilize resources.
• Prepare and present business presentations.
• Provide accurate sales forecasts tied to CRM metrics.
