Job summary

Community College of Allegheny County is seeking a Director of Library Services to lead CCAC’s libraries across locations, supervise staff, manage budgets, and shape strategic directions for student success through library and learning resources. The role requires a MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution and at least four years in academic libraries.

Strong collaboration across departments is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in library science or equivalent required (MLS/MLIS).
• Experience in academic libraries and learning services operations; four years minimum.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership in the development of library services focused on facilitating student success in a diverse community.
• Advocates for the development and promotion of the library with college administration, staff, and external partners.
• Oversees the development and assessment of long-range and strategic plans for library services in all locations, including online.
• Identifies innovative technologies relevant to library services and collaborates to shape future advancements.
• Manages library annual plans and budgets, including electronic resources, and leads staff in achieving goals.
• Champions access to open educational resources and oversees the institution's archives and records retention.

Education

Master's degree (MLS or MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution

Second Master's degree or Doctorate preferred
