Job summary

Jenner & Block LLP in Chicago seeks a Legal Project Management Specialist to join a firmwide initiative to optimize matter management and profitability. You will develop risk assessment tools, create processes, mining information for knowledge management and supporting pricing decision frameworks.

This role interfaces with attorneys and clients to improve budgeting accuracy and project delivery. Reporting to the Pricing & LPM Manager, you will track matters from inception to close, help define

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Systems, Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of project management within a law firm or professional services legal department.
• Strong collaboration, analytical skills, and business judgment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel preferred (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
• Knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles in the legal services industry.

Responsibilities

• Advise attorneys on strategies to maximize profitability through matter performance.
• Research historical matters and prepare budget analyses to enhance pricing accuracy.
• Design templates for budgets and monitor engagements throughout the matter lifecycle.
• Manage multiple workstreams and deadlines while tracking scope changes.
• Provide reporting to management and support proposals with client/matter experience data.
• Quantify risks and develop mitigation strategies; ensure high quality work product.
• Communicate analysis and budget information clearly to lawyers and firm management.
• Model profitability scenarios to inform pricing decisions and coordinate RFP responses.
