Job summary

McGuireWoods LLP in Austin, TX is seeking a Business Development Manager to partner with the BD Director and top lawyers to craft strategy for the Corporate & Private Equity practice. You will develop messaging, coordinate across offices, and identify revenue opportunities that leverage a broad range of BD and marketing functions.

You will oversee BD plans, client targeting, and events, while using DealCloud to track activity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.
• 5+ years in marketing, business and practice development in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Knowledge of corporate, private equity, or financial sectors preferred.
• Business development-focused event management experience.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues and managing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with chairs to develop BD plans, budgets, content marketing strategies, and drive client targeting.
• Lead BD elements for designated departments, including pursuing new business and supporting RFPs, pitches, and client meetings.
• Spearhead collection of deals and matter descriptions in the experience system.
• Draft and lead BD plans and programs for individuals, departments, practice groups, and key clients.
• Coordinate with Director of BD on key client programs, reporting, and industry trend analysis.
• Lead lateral integration efforts in assigned practice areas and track client activity.
• Align budgets with strategic goals and advise on budgeting and management.
