Job summary

McGuireWoods LLP seeks a Manager, Business Development to support the Corporate & Private Equity practice. You will drive BD plans, craft messaging, and coordinate across lawyers to capture opportunities and expand client relationships.

Based in Dallas with a hybrid remote option, you will work with the BD Director and practice leaders to position services, lead RFPs, and track outcomes while mentoring junior colleagues and aligning budgets with strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or related field.
• 5+ years in marketing, business development, or practice development in a professional services environment.
• Experience supporting corporate/private equity and financial sectors is strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate legal services into marketing content.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department chairs to develop BD plans, budgets, and content marketing strategies.
• Lead BD elements for designated departments, pursuing new business and retaining clients.
• Position and execute winning RFPs, pitches, and client meetings.
• Oversee collection of deals and matter descriptions for experience management.
• Draft and implement BD plans for departments, teams, and key clients.
• Support key client programs and provide reporting on financial trends.
• Drive seminars, webinars, sponsorships, and speaking engagements; coordinate logistics.
• Mentor junior colleagues and foster cross-geographic collaboration.
