Job summary

The County of York seeks a Human Resources professional to deliver expert guidance in employee relations, training and development, and related HR initiatives. You will support the Director with disciplinary actions, investigations, and policy interpretation to promote fair, compliant practices across the organization.

You will help manage training programs, maintain the LMS, and develop reports while ensuring inclusivity and civility in the workplace.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience.
• Preferred certifications include World at Work, HRCI, PSHRA, SHRM, or equivalent.
• Valid Commonwealth of Virginia driver’s license.
• Pre-employment checks including criminal history, background and DMV record checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert level HR support on employee relations, training and development programs, and related initiatives.
• Advise and counsel on discipline, grievances, investigations, and EEOC matters.
• Ensure compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, DOT, COBRA, HIPAA, and other laws and regulations.
• Oversee training operations, LMS administration, budgeting, and program evaluation.
