Job summary

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University seeks an Assistant Director of Student Financial Services to lead staff and operations across student accounts, billing, and education benefits. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of professional experience, preferably in accounting or finance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Experience managing multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines with accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service orientation with complex issue resolution abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, develop, and support staff.
• Ability to work with diverse internal and external constituents.
• Ability to work independently with sound judgment and limited supervision.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, esp. Excel.
• Strong organizational skills to coordinate multiple responsibilities.
• Ability to adapt to new ideas, processes, tech, and change.
• Experience managing employee relations and departmental projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for SFS staff and functions including student accounts, billing, education benefits, training, compliance, and customer service.
• Lead and develop staff; guide complex student account matters; ensure policy consistency across SFS operations.
• Analyze departmental reports and transactions; escalate complex issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Drive process improvement, operational effectiveness, and customer service initiatives.
• Analyze performance data, identify trends, prepare reports, and support audits and compliance activities.
• Collaborate with internal departments, campus partners, students, families, and external organizations to promote best practices and service quality.
