Job summary

Montgomery College in Rockville, MD is seeking a Manager of Classification and Compensation. This exempt, full-time role provides strategic leadership for the college’s classification and compensation programs, ensuring equity, competitiveness, and compliance across payroll and HR processes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 6+ years in classification/compensation, and at least 2 years of supervisory experience, with telework flexibility and a strong focus on policy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
• Minimum six years of progressively responsible experience in classification, compensation, or HR.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• CCP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop classification and compensation staff.
• Advise senior leadership on compensation strategy and workforce planning.
• Oversee salary structures, market analyses, and pay practices.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and policies.
• Conduct data analyses to support budgeting and equity initiatives.
