Job summary

Rivian Automotive seeks a Lead Program Manager for Returnable Container Operations & Logistics in Normal, IL. This role oversees the end-to-end lifecycle of reusable packaging, ensuring 100% container availability for production, and managing the 3PL vendor relationships to optimize total cost of ownership.

The candidate drives fleet optimization, enforces cleaning and maintenance protocols, mentors cross-functional teams, and works closely with Plant Operations and Material Supply to minimize

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years in returnable asset management, container fleet logistics, or industrial packaging operations.
• Proven vendor governance with 3PLs.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional influence.
• Proficiency with ERP/WMS (SAP/Oracle), asset tracking (RFID/GPS), TMS, and analytics tools (Tableau/PowerBI).

Responsibilities

• Lead daily floor presence to observe container utilization and drive improvements with Plant Operations.
• Architect data-driven optimization and predictive container planning models.
• Oversee 3PL vendor accountability, SLAs, and chargeback mechanisms for losses or damages.
• Coordinate with Packaging Engineering during NPI to ensure scalable logistics loops.
• Ensure zero downtime by aligning container return loops with production schedules.
