Job summary

Rivian seeks a Staff Material Flow Engineer in Normal, IL to own end-to-end supply chain and material-flow processes from external warehouses to the assembly line.

You will design layouts, develop models, and implement material-flow equipment while collaborating with production control, packaging planning, inbound logistics, and manufacturing engineering to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in supply chain or material flow engineering.
• 3+ years layout planning in 2D/3D design platforms.
• 1+ years modeling/simulation (FlexSim/AnyLogic) and data viz tools (PowerBI/Tableau).
• This role requires leadership to drive cross-functional engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Development of large-scale supply chain and logistics processes from external warehouses to assembly line.
• Detailed process design including value-stream, logistics, routing, and warehouse design.
• Implement material flow equipment such as conveyors, EMS systems, AGVs, and ASRS systems.
• Develop models to analyze cost, throughput, and space for sequencing and storage.
• Plan, manage, and communicate project schedules aligned to milestones.
• Ensure safety, quality, cost, timing & throughput targets are achieved.
• Lead automation of supply chain logistics and AI-driven bottleneck prediction.
