Job summary

SEIU is seeking a Deputy Director of Integrated Organizing Communications to lead cohesive, worker-centered national campaigns. You will oversee communications and digital management, guiding a team of skilled practitioners to translate organizing goals into actionable narratives and campaigns.

Based anywhere in the USA, this senior role on the Worker Power team requires leadership, budgeting, and strategic planning with frequent travel and long hours.

Qualifications

• Seven to eight years of related work experience or equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Ability to act and organize time with independence, representing the International Union with independent judgment and a high level of professionalism.
• Demonstrated capacity to work with International Union staff, campaign staff, local leaders and members, nonunion workers, and community partners to implement communications strategy.
• Proven experience managing a team, including at least three direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of cohesive worker-centered communications and digital strategy, building capacity across priority campaigns to build a multiracial movement of workers.
• Drive narrative and messaging coordination and create dynamic days of action, collaborating across the Narrative and Engagement Department and Organizing Hub.
• Oversee day-to-day campaign management and staff development within the Organizing Narrative team.
• Coordinate planning, budgeting, and project management across divisions, departments, and campaign leaders.
