Job summary

SEIU (Service Employees International Union) is seeking an Organizing Campaign Director to lead national campaigns from the National Organizing Hub. The role develops, executes, and manages strategic campaigns with local, state, regional, and national scope, coordinating with stakeholders and staff across multiple components.

The position requires extensive external labor organizing and campaign leadership experience, including budgeting, staffing, and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Minimum of ten (10) years of external labor organizing experience; or a combination of eight (8) years external labor organizing and two (2) years of internal labor organizing experience.
• A minimum of eight (8) years of campaign planning and management experience, including developing and managing multi-component campaigns; working with interdisciplinary campaign teams.
• A minimum of seven (7) years of direct supervisory or team management experience, including leading campaign teams and staff.
• Graduation from a four-year college or university is not required, but is a plus.
• Ability to develop and manage comprehensive campaigns that effectively integrate and align relevant multiple components, such as field, digital, communications, research, legislative, political, etc.

Responsibilities

• Represent and assist SEIU in carrying out its organizing programs; develop campaign strategies and coordinate multi-component tables.
• Collaborate with stakeholder local unions at state, regional, and national levels to strengthen organizing programs and campaigns.
• Manage campaigns and initiatives to achieve goals and benchmarks; oversee data management and digital organizing platforms.
• Staff SEIU participation on government agencies, legislatures, and coalitions to execute campaign strategy.
• Determine allocation of staff and resources to support campaigns and overall union strategies.
