Job summary

Lennar USA is seeking a Land Purchasing Manager to lead contracting of Land Development vendors, review construction plans, and ensure compliance with Lennar standards. The role requires experience in heavy civil engineering, purchasing, or estimating, and collaboration with project managers to maintain budget integrity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in raw land development, civil engineering, value engineering, or estimating. Offsite Purchasing experience highly preferred.
• Experience with infrastructure, developing scopes, grading, environmental is highly preferred.
• Superior analytical and communication skills required.
• Significant knowledge of the residential development and homebuilding industry highly preferred.
• Sound financial management knowledge and project management skills.
• Sound negotiating skills and influencing skills.
• Experience with JD Edwards accounting systems and Build Pro payment and scheduling software highly preferred.
• Experience with on-screen takeoff applications, such as Bluebeam or Planswift.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and civil engineering plans.

Responsibilities

• Review civil construction drawings and provide feedback to engineering consultants to ensure plans meet Lennar’s standards.
• Work with Project Managers to keep development budgets current and accurate.
• Oversee bidding to ensure best price, quality, and performance.
• Issue contracts and work orders and ensure proper budgeting.
• Track contracts and work orders against development budgets.
• Assist in forecasting expenditures for cash flow modeling.
