Job summary

The Bridge in New York, NY is seeking a Labor and Employee Relations Manager to oversee employee and labor relations, ensure compliance with employment laws, and guide managers through disciplinary and performance processes. The role collaborates with senior leadership and union representatives to address grievances and promote a constructive workplace.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field.
• Five+ years proven experience in HR Generalist and labor relations in a unionized environment.
• Strong understanding of labor and employment laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve employee complaints and disputes, including grievances.
• Collaborate with Compliance on investigations and ensure HR actions are completed.
• Develop and maintain a system for tracking complaints and investigations.
• Provide coaching to managers on performance, discipline, and improvement plans.
• Develop and deliver training on labor relations, discipline and performance management.
• Prepare and analyze data on labor relations trends and report to senior management.
• Review Employee Handbook for compliance and communicate changes to staff.
• Ensure timely completion of performance evaluations and probationary reviews.
• Maintain regular communication with staff via multiple channels.
