Job summary

Norsk Hydro is seeking a driven Key Account Manager to grow and manage strategic accounts in Northern California. The role coordinates across Hydro’s manufacturing network to deliver reliable service and customer value, leading commercial discussions and forecasting with a focus on profitable growth.

The position requires extensive travel, strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the building and construction market, aluminum extrusion products, and related services.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive sales and marketing with key account management and strategy development.
• Direct experience in building and construction market; aluminum extrusion industry preferred.
• Strong ability to develop and execute commercial strategies to increase market share and profitable growth.

Responsibilities

• Own and grow a portfolio of strategic building, construction and industrial customers across Northern California.
• Develop account plans to expand market share, improve retention, and deliver profitable growth.
• Build a pipeline of new opportunities involving extrusion, fabrication, finishing, and thermal solutions.
• Understand customer applications, project cycles, and buying processes; identify growth priorities.
• Lead pricing, contracts, forecasts, and account profitability; coordinate with internal teams.
• Maintain customer forecasts, budgets, market maps, and pipeline in Salesforce and other systems.
• Provide proactive communication on lead times, outages, order status, and recovery plans.
• Participate in collections, dispute resolution, and service recovery when needed.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
• Represent Hydro professionally at meetings, reviews, events, and plant visits.
