Job summary

University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia is seeking an Executive Director, EVP IT Integrated Services to lead a multi-division IT organization and report to the CIO. The role focuses on integrating 40 technology professionals across five EVP divisions to deliver secure and reliable services while preserving specialized capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible IT leadership experience.
• Experience as trusted advisor to vice presidents and executives.
• Ability to lead organizational change with judgment and accountability.
• Strong knowledge of IT operations, security, cloud, and data management.
• Proven track record of improving service quality and resilience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship-building.
• Experience managing budgets, resources, and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Integrated IT organization by unifying EVP division IT teams into a single operating unit.
• Establish clear service ownership, roles, and accountability across shared and specialized IT services.
• Determine what is commonly shared vs. specialized while maintaining reliability.
• Ensure continuity of service during organizational evolution and transitions.
• Partner with Planning, HR, Communications and other leaders on organizational changes.
• Serve as senior point of accountability for divisional VP needs and translate priorities into technology plans.
• Advise leadership as a collaborator and thought partner on technology opportunities.
• Represent divisional needs in ISC and University IT planning and decisions.
• Establish channels for customer feedback, communication, and issue resolution.
• Lead reliable, secure, customer-focused technology services across applications, infrastructure, cloud, end-user services, and data.
• Align operations with enterprise standards and risk management.
• Ensure operational resilience and continuous service improvement.
• Utilize feedback to simplify processes and improve service quality.
• Lead IT leaders and staff across EVP divisions, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Develop career pathways, succession planning, and communities of practice.
• Build a high-performing, inclusive IT workforce.
• Manage EVP IT operating budget and resources; align staffing with priorities.
• Identify opportunities for shared capabilities and economies of scale.
• Oversee vendors, contracts, assets, and expenditures.
• Other duties as assigned.
