Steptoe LLP in Washington, DC is seeking an IT Business Relationship Manager to build and sustain strategic partnerships between IT and practice groups. You will translate business needs into IT demand, advocate for priorities, and ensure technology investments deliver measurable value.

You will lead cross‑functional collaboration with IT leadership, manage a demand pipeline, develop business cases, and drive adoption of AI-enabled tools while maintaining service standards and governance across

Qualifications

• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills; ability to establish credibility and trust.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of professional services operations.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Experience with AI tool adoption or change management.
• Seven or more years in technology consulting with client-facing responsibilities.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
• Familiarity with legal tech platforms and AI/analytics tools is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the dedicated IT point of contact for assigned business units, practice groups, and departments.
• Establish trusted advisory relationships with department heads and stakeholders.
• Capture, document, and prioritize technology requests aligned with IT priorities.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical requirements for delivery teams.
• Develop proposals, business cases, and project charters for initiatives.
• Collaborate with IT leadership to communicate roadmaps and governance.
• Lead or support change management, adoption activities, and training.
• Maintain records of engagements, requirements, and commitments.
