Job summary

Nicollet County Technologies Department in Minnesota seeks an experienced technology leader to guide enterprise IT strategy and operations. You will develop objectives, manage budgets, and supervise staff while aligning IT initiatives with county priorities and regulatory requirements.

The role focuses on implementing enterprise solutions, establishing security and disaster recovery policies, and coordinating technology resources across departments to maximize service quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and five years of tech department supervision experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical staff.
• Experience developing and managing IT budgets, policies, and strategic plans.
• Knowledge of data security, compliance, and enterprise IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Advises County management on strategic information technology issues and acts as primary IT resource for the Board.
• Develops long- and short-range IT plans aligned to County goals and budgets.
• Directs hardware/software acquisition, security policies, disaster recovery, and data privacy programs.
• Supervises staff, conducts performance reviews, and coordinates staffing and training.
• Oversees county-wide technology strategy, including on-premises and cloud-based systems.
