Job summary

Nicollet County is seeking a technology leader under the County Administrator to support the Technologies Department with consulting, systems implementation, and enterprise-wide technology initiatives. The role oversees budget development, guides staff, and recommends improvements to operations, policies, and security.

It requires strategic thinking, strong communication, and the ability to manage on-premises and cloud systems across county departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
• Five (5) years of experience in a technologies department setting and experience supervising professional staff
• Valid MN Driver’s License
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience to perform essential duties

Responsibilities

• Advises County Staff on Strategic Information Technology Issues and serves as primary IT resource for County management and Board
• Develops long- and short-range plans to support County goals and objectives and forecasts resources
• Develops and enforces standard operating procedures and policies for hardware/software acquisitions
• Directs the development and implementation of County-wide Technology Policies, Procedures, and Standards
• Develops and manages the Technologies Department budget and supervises staff
• Ensures security of county computing assets and compliance with laws and regulations
