Job summary

Nicollet County is seeking a Community Corrections Director to lead the Community Corrections Department under the County Administrator. The role establishes goals, directs staff, and ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in corrections, criminal justice, sociology, social work, public administration or related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in a probation department setting with supervision of professional staff or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to listen, comprehend and effectively communicate information in writing and orally.
• Knowledge of applicable state, federal, and local laws, rules, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Sets goals and objectives for the department and aligns with county policy directives.
• Oversees development and implementation of the departmental budget and monitors financial condition.
• Guides staff work, provides coaching, and evaluates performance with disciplinary action when needed.
• Develops outcome measures for corrections staff and manages workloads.
• Represents the department in collaboration with health services, law enforcement, schools, and court professionals.
