Job summary

HDR is seeking a Principal Program Manager to lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with a strong technical focus in the Water/Infrastructure sector. You will advise clients, plan across disciplines, and manage risks while driving program success from initiation to completion.

The role demands extensive leadership, clear communication with executives, and the ability to coordinate teams across locations. HDR emphasizes employee ownership and a commitment to inclusion across communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Sciences, Planning, Business Administration or a closely related field.
• At least one of the following licenses/certifications: PE/P.Eng, PMP, PgMP, AICP, CCM.
• Ten years program management experience with at least four years as a Senior Program Manager; experience on three+ programs each $500M+.
• Strong leadership skills with experience building a cohesive team culture and managing distributed teams.
• Excellent communication skills; comfortable presenting to client executives and large audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high technical complexity.
• Advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial, and community aspects to ensure program success.
• Plan, direct, and monitor program execution across multiple disciplines.
• Identify risks and provide strategic guidance and problem-solving.
• Develop and implement plans and tools to drive efficiency and accountability.
• Direct services provided by large program teams or a mega-project.
