Job summary

American University in Washington, DC, seeks an Industry Engagement Specialist (IES) to build and maintain partnerships with key industry players for Kogod undergraduate and graduate students. The IES will expand internship and full-time opportunities by engaging employers, recruiters, and alumni, tailoring strategies to industry needs and student strengths.

This full-time, hybrid position requires 4–6 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and travel both domestically

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 4 - 6 years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree or equivalent; 5 - 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in university career services, recruiting, staffing, or business development.
• High proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint; experience using LinkedIn and professional networks.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strategic vision and plan for ongoing engagement with external partners, including employers and alumni.
• Identify target employers and coordinate recruitment events and engagement activities.
• Collaborate with career coaches, faculty and staff to align opportunities with curricula and student needs.
• Maintain a database of active employers and alumni; report on engagement activities and outcomes.
• Stay informed on industry trends and KPIs to improve engagement strategies.
