Job summary

Ash Grove Cement is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to provide strategic and operational HR support across multiple U.S. and Canada cement plant locations. The role acts as a trusted advisor to site leadership and drives HR programs across the full employment lifecycle.

On-site presence is required twice a week at the Durkee, OR plant. You will mentor HR Business Partners, oversee labor relations and union matters, and partner with leaders to deliver scalable HR solutions aligned with

Qualifications

• Minimum of a 4-year Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of HR experience in corporate or manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of employment and labor law; union environments preferred.
• Ability to work onsite at assigned locations in an industrial setting.
• Proficient in HRIS systems; experience with UKG or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational HR support for plant locations across the US and Canada.
• Serve as trusted advisor to site leadership and drive HR programs across the employment lifecycle.
• Mentor HR Business Partners and ensure consistent delivery of HR services.
• Oversee employee and labor relations, including terminations and performance issues.
• Support union contract negotiations/interpretations with guidance from leadership.
• Handle recruiting, onboarding, and integration for plant openings.
• Contribute to workforce analytics and action plans based on metrics.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
• Promote safety programs and a strong safety culture.
