Job summary

The National Cemetery Administration, part of the Department of Veterans Affairs, seeks a Human Resource Specialist (Recruitment & Placement/Classification) for Washington, DC. The role provides HR advisory services across staffing, recruitment, placement, and classification for a large, complex organization, with telework eligibility and a Monday–Friday schedule.

The position is open under the Fed Transition hiring path, with a GS-12 level and a salary range of $102,415 to $133,142 per year.

Qualifications

• Provides HR advisory services in staffing, recruitment, placement, and classification.
• Consults with District HR Liaisons and managers on workforce planning and recruitment strategies.
• Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and merit system principles.

Responsibilities

• Reviews proposed regulations to assess impact on recruitment and employment programs.
• Advises hiring managers and senior leaders on qualification requirements and placement actions.
• Resolves complex staffing issues, including merit promotion actions and grievances.
• Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
