Job summary

Belfor USA in Birmingham, MI is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to align business objectives with employees and management in designated units. The HRBP will partner across HR to deliver value-added service, maintain compliance, and support employment law obligations while mediating employee relations.

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Birmingham, MI, with responsibilities spanning employee coaching, investigations, training, recruitment support, and HR data

Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to enhance HR relationships through regular communication and collaboration on HR/business problems.
• Advise, coach and mentor employees, supervisors and managers within the organization on a regular basis.
• Lead workplace investigations and resolve complex employee relations issues and complaints.
• Coach management on performance management, succession planning, employee development, and disciplinary processes.
• Maintain consistent documentation in case management software for investigations, communications and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws; implement compliance initiatives and respond to surveys and reports.
• Work with the legal team to investigate inquiries and claims from government agencies and legal matters.
• Identify training needs and design/deliver training programs.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, retention and offboarding activities; review job descriptions and postings.
• Develop tools and programs to support recruitment, onboarding and retention; use HR systems for reporting and data management.
• Review metrics with General and Regional managers to identify people-related trends.
• Prepare and approve employee change requests, offer letters and separations; communicate outcomes.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities for HR and the business.
• Participate in ongoing education on HR best practices and employment legislation.
• Promote team morale and maintain professional standards and confidentiality.
