Job summary

Aeon, a nonprofit housing organization based in Minneapolis, seeks a Human Resources Business Partner to partner with managers and employees across the organization. This role handles employee relations, performance management, recruitment, orientation, safety program administration, compliance reporting, compensation support, and HR projects.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of generalist HR experience, with focus on performance management and employee relations.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
• Proven ability to coach managers on sensitive employee situations.
• Strong writing and editing skills for employee communications and disciplinary documents.
• Broad HR knowledge across recruitment, onboarding, compensation, compliance, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Partner with managers to assess performance, coach on action plans and leadership skills.
• Coach managers for difficult conversations and feedback with clear expectations.
• Review and edit manager documentation for consistency and policy alignment.
• Conduct objective workplace investigations and prepare summaries.
• Lead Aeon's orientation program for new hires and new managers.
• Support leadership development initiatives and manager toolkits.
• Coordinate HR compliance reporting and audits.
