Job summary

Aeon, a nonprofit housing organization in the Twin Cities, seeks an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to support managers and staff in performance management, employee relations, recruitment, orientation, and compliance. The role partners with the VP of HR and is headquartered at Aeon’s Minneapolis office in a hybrid work arrangement.

The successful candidate will coach leaders, draft communications, manage documentation, and help drive Aeon’s HR initiatives across the organization,

Qualifications

• Five or more years of hands-on generalist HR experience with emphasis on performance management and employee relations.
• SHRM-CP or PHR strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to coach managers on handling sensitive employee situations.
• Strong writing and editing skills for employee communications and documentation.
• Broad HR knowledge including recruitment, onboarding, compensation, compliance, and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Partner with managers to assess performance and workplace concerns, identifying root causes and action plans.
• Coach managers on difficult conversations, feedback, expectations, accountability and conflict resolution.
• Assist in preparing clear, accurate performance documentation and disciplinary communications.
• Conduct investigations with objective analysis and leadership-ready summaries.
• Own and improve Aeon’s HR orientation programs for new hires and promoted managers.
