K2 Space in Los Angeles is seeking an HR Business Partner to help shape our people strategy as we scale a cutting-edge aerospace business. You will work with the HR team and leadership to implement initiatives, ensure compliance with labor laws, and create an inclusive culture where top talent can thrive.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as HR Business Partner or Generalist in a fast-paced startup.
• Experience handling employee relations, internal investigations, and similar contentious matters.
• California labor and employment law knowledge, including non-exempt wage/hour matters.
• Experience with FLSA and wage/hour regulations, advising managers on timekeeping and scheduling.
• Ability to coach, guide, and influence both managers and individual contributors.

Responsibilities

• Support Senior and Principal HR Partners and help build the HR function.
• Serve as a strategic resource for people managers and individual contributors, fostering a positive work environment.
• Oversee onboarding through offboarding across multiple states to ensure a seamless experience for all employees.
• Respond to employee questions and provide guidance on core HR functions.
• Foster healthy workplace relations by addressing issues proactively and driving fair solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deploy HR policies, programs, and processes to meet contractual and legal requirements.
• Drive initiatives that boost engagement, retention, and workforce development aligned with company goals.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across states.
• Contribute to diversity and inclusion and other strategic workforce development efforts.
