Job summary

A1 Garage Door Service is seeking an HR Business Partner to work with leaders across markets to solve people challenges, strengthen teams, and support business results. This hands-on role operates in a fast-moving, multi-state environment where practical judgment matters and priorities shift.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in employee relations, multi-state support, and strong communication skills. A hybrid work model is available after training, with on-site needs as business dictates.

Qualifications

• At least two years of hands-on experience handling complex employee relations matters in an HRBP or HR generalist role.
• Experience supporting employees and leaders across multiple states with state-specific requirements.
• Working knowledge of employee relations, investigations, performance management, accommodations and leaves, compensation, and employment laws.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to balance policy with business needs.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Hybrid schedule possible after training; on-site presence may be required.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders in assigned markets to understand business needs and provide HR guidance.
• Manage complex employee relations matters, including performance issues, policy violations, and separations.
• Conduct thorough workplace investigations and recommend next steps.
• Coach managers through performance management and development, conflict resolution, and day-to-day people decisions.
• Interpret and apply policies and employment laws across states, consulting with legal when needed.
• Support organizational changes, workforce planning, promotions, transfers, and succession discussions.
• Use data and trends to identify risks and improve programs or processes.
• Build trusted relationships with employees and leaders while balancing experience, compliance, and business needs.
• Identify training needs and partner with teams to implement solutions.
• Contribute to HR projects outside the usual scope as priorities shift.
• Serve as a coach and resource to other People team members; this role has no direct reports.
