Job summary

Legacy Utility Group in Plano, TX seeks an HR Business Partner to translate people strategy into day-to-day HR practice across multiple entities and states. You will serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers, conduct investigations, coach managers, and support the performance review cycle.

The role requires 3+ years of HR generalist/HRBP experience, multi-entity exposure, knowledge of employment law fundamentals, and willingness to travel. Hybrid work environment in Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of progressive HR generalist or HR business partner experience.
• Experience supporting a multi-entity, multi-state, or field-based workforce strongly preferred.
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of employment law fundamentals, including leave, wage & hour, discrimination, and workplace safety basics.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary day-to-day HR point of contact for employees and managers, addressing questions, conflicts, and concerns.
• Conduct thorough, well-documented investigations into employee complaints and policy violations.
• Coach managers on performance concerns, corrective action, and difficult conversations while maintaining consistency across entities.
• Partner with People team leadership on escalated or higher-risk employee relations matters.
• Support the annual performance review cycle, including manager training, timeline tracking, and quality review of written feedback.
• Collaborate with hiring managers on job postings, interview coordination, and offer processes for assigned entities.
• Assist with onboarding execution to ensure new hires have a consistent, organized start experience.
• Monitor trends in turnover, engagement, and performance data, and flag emerging people risks to leadership.
• Apply company policy consistently; elevate gaps or inconsistencies for resolution.
• Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation for employee relations cases, leave, and corrective actions.
• Support multi-state compliance activities, including required postings, training, and recordkeeping.
• Partner with Compliance and Safety on HR-intersecting matters such as incidents, DOT-related issues, and certified payroll workforce questions.
• Act as a visible, trusted presence for field and office employees to support early, honest communication.
• Support culture and engagement initiatives, including participation in Culture Committee activities as needed.
• Translate company-wide HR communications into practical guidance relevant to each entity’s operations.
