Job summary

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc., a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional HR Manager I based at our Counterbalance Development Center (CBDC) in Portland, Oregon.

This role leads HR for an onsite product development organization of about 300 employees and serves as a strategic partner to site leadership, integrating strategic thinking, business acumen, and day-to-day HR leadership across recruiting, talent, performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; advanced degree or HR certification preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR Business Partner roles.
• Experience supporting engineering or manufacturing teams is helpful.
• Experience in a matrixed or global organization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with site and business leaders to align HR guidance on workforce planning and employee relations.
• Demonstrate agility adapting HR approaches to evolving business conditions and workforce needs.
• Lead core talent activities including recruiting support, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning.
• Coach managers through employee issues and develop a positive, high-performing work environment.
• Oversee benefits support, policy interpretation, and compliance with employment laws and company practices.
