Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX seeks a senior HR professional to provide strategic HR consultation and solutions to designated business units, aligning HR strategies with business goals. You will anticipate HR needs, partner with business leaders, and drive action through HR centers of expertise.

You will lead HR plans, leverage data for workforce strategy, and influence organizational change.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5 years of professional HR experience with two years in a core HR function or HR Generalist.
• PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
• Higher education HR experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Acts as an HR strategist for designated client groups and leads the implementation of HR plans and initiatives to meet business objectives.
• Develops and utilizes trend analysis to drive data‑driven human capital strategy and improve function effectiveness.
• Drives organizational change with a structured approach to enable changeability across the organization.
• Partners with leaders to design optimal organizational structures to achieve business goals and optimize talent.
• Coaches leaders on leadership behaviors, communications, development, and performance management to boost engagement.
