Job summary

State of Mississippi is seeking a Human Resources Manager for the Mississippi Public Broadcasting system in Jackson. You will lead the HR office, align workforce strategy with MPB’s mission, and report to the CFO.

The role covers talent acquisition, compensation, benefits administration, and compliance with state and federal laws. You will influence employment policy, oversee employee relations, and manage performance and development across MPB’s statewide operations.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree, 10 years of HR experience and 3-4 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience using SPAHRS, MAGIC EC, and NEOGOV.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily HR operations and strategic direction for MPB.
• Oversee talent acquisition, classification and compensation, benefits, and employee relations.
• Manage performance management processes and disciplinary actions with fairness and risk mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, Title VII, FLSA and MSPB policies.
• Serve as liaison to state HR partners and MSPB.
