Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Master’s or PHR/SPHR preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience.
• Prior nonprofit, social services, or community-based experience preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Knowledge of policy development, implementation, and interpretation for employee conduct and safety.
• Knowledge of performance appraisal methods and employee development.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex policies clearly.

Responsibilities

• Ensure employee compliance with Policies and Procedures.
• Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and conflict resolution.
• Coach and counsel management through employee relations issues and recommend actions.
• Conduct internal investigations as needed.
• Facilitate employee separation processes.
• Foster an inclusive workplace culture aligned with values.
• Support engagement initiatives and retention strategies.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and funder regulations.
• Coordinate performance review processes and coach on feedback and development.
• Oversee personnel records (I-9s, background checks, HRIS data).
• Maintain and improve HR processes and documentation.
• Leverage HRIS for recordkeeping, reporting, and efficiency.
• Generate HR reports for leadership and Board.
• Support training and employee wellness aligned with mission.
• Advise on organizational development and workforce planning.
