Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a Manager, HR & Labor Relations to lead labor strategy, negotiations, and employee relations across represented and non-represented groups. You will guide a team of HR Business Partners and advise executives on complex workforce issues.

The role focuses on collective bargaining, grievance handling, contract interpretation, arbitration prep, and aligning labor relations with business goals, organizational effectiveness, and talent strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, labor relations, industrial relations, business administration, or related field.
• JD or other advanced degree in HR, labor relations, business administration, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive labor relations experience in a unionized environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic advisor to business leaders, HR leadership, and executive stakeholders on complex workforce, organizational, employee, and labor relations matters.
• Lead, coach, and direct a team of HR Business Partners with consistent support across represented and non-represented environments.
• Serve as the organization's principal labor relations resource, providing enterprise‑wide expertise in collective bargaining negotiations, labor strategy, contract administration, grievance management, arbitration preparation, and represented workforce matters.
• Partner with leaders to develop and execute workforce strategies supporting operational objectives, organizational effectiveness, talent needs, workforce planning, employee engagement, and business performance.
• Lead or participate as key bargaining team member during collective bargaining negotiations, advising on objectives, proposals, costing analyses, and workforce impacts.
• Provide consultation on employee relations, labor relations, performance management, investigations, and conflict resolution with independent judgment.
