Job summary

Essent Group Ltd. seeks a proactive, hands-on Director of Human Resources to provide strategic direction and operational oversight across all core HR functions. The role partners with leadership to shape workforce strategy, manage employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, payroll, HRIS, and compliance.

You will lead a high-performing HR team and drive development programs while ensuring legal compliance across jurisdictions and optimizing HR processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field.
• SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
• 10+ years progressive HR experience, with leadership exposure.
• Strong employment law knowledge and business acumen.
• Experience leading HR programs and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Act as a primary HR advisor to client groups and leaders.
• Oversee performance management including MBO cycles and reviews.
• Lead investigations and provide strategic guidance on employee relations.
• Manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding.
• Oversee HRIS governance, payroll, benefits, and data analytics.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Design and drive learning and development initiatives.
• Lead vendor/PEO partnerships and HR cost optimization.
• Build and lead a high-performing HR team.
• Foster accountability, innovation, and ethical standards.
