The role provides strategic HR leadership for a multi-site nonprofit operating in Oregon and California, focusing on employment risk management, employee relations, organizational change, and compliance across state lines. Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience leading HR functions in large organizations.
• Experience with multi-site organizations across states is strongly preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of employment law, payroll practices and workplace safety.
• Strong leadership, communication and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of HR for a multi-site org in OR and CA.
• Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategy, policies, systems and practices.
• Ensure consistent HR practices across locations to support effectiveness and well-being.
• Align HR leadership with organizational values, mission and culture.
• Lead HR support for growth, restructuring, and change management.
• Maintain compliance with federal, Oregon and California employment laws and regulations.
• Stay current on employment legislation affecting multi-state employers.
• Oversee employment-related risk management including workers’ compensation and unemployment.
• Advise managers on performance, discipline and workplace conflicts.
• Coach leaders on performance management, documentation, and resolution.
• Identify trends and recommend proactive strategies for employee relations.
• Oversee annual benefits renewal, open enrollment and employee communications.
• Ensure payroll administration, wage/hour compliance, and leave management are accurate.
