Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center seeks a Director of Human Resources to align HR strategies with business objectives across the system. This leader partners with senior executives and HR COEs to shape culture, enhance talent, and drive change in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities include strategic partnerships, organizational design, and enterprise HR integration, with a focus on execution excellence and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (required).
• Master's degree in HR/Business Administration or related field (preferred).
• 8–10 years in HR in a large-scale multi-site matrixed org (required).
• 5–7 years of management experience (required).
• In-depth knowledge of talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, labor and employee relations, HR technology (required).
• Proven track record in HRBP leadership talent management and organizational development (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Strategic partnership with senior leaders aligning workforce strategies with business objectives.
• Partner with OE COE to design org structures supporting strategic priorities and lead change initiatives.
• Coach and mentor HRBPs to build strategic capability across the HRBP community.
• Identify and lead cross-entity HR projects to improve efficiency and alignment.
• Bridge between Business HR and COEs to shape data-driven HR programs.
• Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution of HR initiatives and programs.
• Lead change management for organizational transformation and culture.
• Ensure compliance with laws, standards, and MedStar policies.
• Participate in system-wide planning and committees as needed.
• Contribute to department goals and adherence to policies and safety standards.
