Job summary

Hancock Whitney seeks an HR Compliance and Risk Manager to serve as the subject matter expert for employment law, policy governance, and risk management. You will partner with Legal, Compliance, and Internal Audit to mitigate risk, lead HR audits, and drive process improvements that strengthen controls.

Responsibilities include monitoring laws, updating policies, and overseeing SOX-related testing, data privacy, and regulatory examinations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Legal Studies, Risk Management or equivalent related experience required.
• 6 years of HR compliance, internal audit, or HR risk management experience required.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, CCEP, CRMA, or CIA preferred.
• Deep knowledge of employment law and HR risk frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR subject matter expert for employment-related litigation matters and policy interpretation.
• Lead HR compliance programs by monitoring federal, state, and local employment laws and updates.
• Develop and administer the HR Risk control process across key HR functions.
• Partner with Internal Audit, Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management on HR audits and SOX reviews.
• Oversee HR-related internal control testing and remediation of gaps.
• Track and report compliance, audit, risk, and control metrics for leadership.
