Job summary

Addison Group in Chicago is seeking an experienced HR Communications Specialist to partner with HR and executives during growth, acquisitions, and organizational change. You will develop thoughtful communication strategies, craft executive content, and ensure clear, consistent messaging for major initiatives.

The role demands a polished communicator who builds programs, creates structure in fast-moving settings, and translates complex business topics into employee-friendly messaging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate, internal, or executive communications.
• 5+ years developing high-level written communications for diverse audiences.
• Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, integrations, or major change initiatives.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to advise senior leadership.
• Experience in complex/global environments (testing, inspection, certification, life sciences, manufacturing) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop communication strategies for mergers, acquisitions, organizational changes, and broader business transformation efforts.
• Create comprehensive communication plans tied to HR initiatives, employee engagement, and company-wide priorities.
• Serve as a strategic communications partner to HR executives and other senior business leaders.
• Translate complex organizational information into concise, engaging employee communications.
• Draft executive messaging, leadership presentations, talking points, FAQs, announcements, and other internal materials.
• Oversee communication initiatives from planning through final distribution.
• Collaborate with HR, business leaders, and cross-functional partners to maintain consistent messaging.
• Support communications around benefits and open enrollment initiatives.
• Help establish processes, standards, and tools to strengthen internal communications.
