Addison Group is partnering with a growing organization to hire a Human Resources Business Partner in Chicago, IL. You will serve as strategic partner to leadership across multiple business units, guiding employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational development.

The role involves collaborating with HR and legal teams, driving engagement, policies, and compliance while supporting travels to various locations.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of progressive HR experience, including 3–5 years as HRBP.
• Experience supporting multiple locations across states.
• Willingness to travel about one week per month.
• Strong knowledge of employee relations and compliance.
• Ability to coach leaders and conduct investigations.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to balance strategic HR with hands-on support.
• Comfortable in a dynamic, multi-location environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with managers to improve workplace culture, strengthen communication, increase engagement, and support employee retention.
• Advise leadership on organizational changes, staffing strategies, workforce planning, and succession planning.
• Review HR data and workforce trends to identify opportunities for improved policies, programs, and employee support.
• Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance concerns, employee development, disciplinary matters, and career progression.
• Lead investigations into complex employee relations issues, ensuring concerns are addressed fairly, objectively, and appropriately.
• Support compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations while helping minimize organizational risk.
• Interpret HR policies and provide practical recommendations to leaders on employee-related matters.
• Collaborate with HR colleagues and legal partners to develop solutions that address business needs and employee concerns.
• Assist with employment-related decisions involving new hires, promotions, transfers, and other workforce changes.
• Identify training and development opportunities, support leadership coaching, and evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives.
• Travel to various business locations as needed to support leaders, employees, and HR initiatives.
