Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs in Hastings seeks an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to provide strategic HR guidance for the MVH Hastings management team and ensure alignment with state policies.

This role leads full-cycle recruitment, position classification, and labor relations support, advising managers and employees on policies to ensure compliance and effective workforce planning.

Qualifications

• Two years of HR experience in labor relations, employee performance management, vacancy-filling, job analysis/classification and/or compensation.
• Experience using HR information systems (preferably PeopleSoft).
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain processes and policies.
• Knowledge of employment laws, rules, and collective bargaining agreements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional HR guidance and consultation in leave management, labor relations, classification, compensation, staffing and strategic recruitment for MVH Hastings.
• Coordinate and complete full-cycle recruitment and staffing in collaboration with hiring supervisors and HR staff.
• Advise managers on employment laws, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
