Job summary

LifeMed Alaska, LLC is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to guide overall financial strategy and ensure integrity of financial reporting. You will partner with the CEO and senior leaders to translate numbers into actionable decisions, oversee accounting operations, and lead a high-performing finance team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The role requires strong communication, governance, and cross-functional collaboration, with accountability for budgeting, audits, and financial planning.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience, including responsibility for financial reporting and accounting operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash planning, financial modeling, allocations, and long-range financial planning.
• Provide timely financial reporting and meaningful analysis of performance, variances, cost trends, and operational drivers.
• Work with board members and department leaders to understand their financial results, identify trends, and improve budget ownership and decision-making.
• Develop and monitor financial and operational metrics that help leadership understand the health and performance of the organization.
• Evaluate the financial impact of strategic initiatives and operational decisions and provide clear recommendations.
• Oversee accounting operations and overall accountability for the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of LifeMed Alaska’s accounting records and financial statements.
• Ensure effective accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, documentation, and appropriate segregation of duties.
• Continuously look for practical ways to strengthen accounting processes, controls, systems, and workflows.
• Lead the annual financial audit and work directly with external auditors on financial statements, schedules, supporting documentation, audit requests, and resolution of findings.
• Coordinate preparation and review of year-end financial statements and ensure financial information is ready for Board review and discussion.
• Prepare clear financial reports, analysis, forecasts, and supporting materials for the CEO, senior leadership team, and Board.
• Participate in Board financial discussions as requested and explain financial results, significant variances, trends, risks, and other matters in a clear and straightforward way.
• Maintain year-round audit readiness and coordinate with external tax professionals and other financial or regulatory partners as needed.
