Job summary

OrthoAlaska LLC is seeking a Controller to own the finance function, drive close processes, and lead the accounting team. You will perform advanced financial modeling, budgeting, and strategic analysis while collaborating with physician stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

The role demands hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to implement process improvements across accounting systems and workflows. Anchorage-based position with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Highest level of ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• Minimum seven years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including at least five years in management.
• Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise direct reports with effective leadership to achieve high engagement and quality outcomes.
• Stay hands-on in daily operations, reviewing bi-weekly payrolls, weekly check runs, and month-end close.
• Prepare financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses; translate results into recommendations for leadership.
• Own the annual budget and forecasting process from start to finish with department leaders and physician shareholders.
• Monitor cash flow and ensure resources meet obligations and plan for investments.
• Review and negotiate contracts and leases with favorable terms and proper accounting treatment.
