Job summary

The Hartford Steam Boiler, a Munich Re company, is expanding its Sensor Solutions business and seeks a Director of Strategic Business Development to lead property solutions sales across the United States. The role focuses on large-scale portfolios, including REITs, multifamily operators, and commercial real estate organizations, building relationships at the executive level.

You will identify high-value opportunities, develop compelling business cases, and guide complex consultative sales

Qualifications

• 8+ years of B2B or enterprise sales experience in commercial real estate, multifamily/habitational, proptech/IoT, building systems, or insurance/risk solutions.
• Demonstrated new-logo sales track record, including prospecting, executive relationship development, negotiation, closing, and expansion into larger accounts or portfolios.
• Experience with REITs, owners/operators, property managers, HOAs/condos, commercial real estate brokers, or insurance partners is strongly preferred.
• Strong consultative enterprise selling, pipeline management, proposal development, negotiation, and closing skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue high-value opportunities across the U.S. property portfolio.
• Build executive-level relationships and develop compelling business cases.
• Lead complex consultative sales engagements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Execute a land-and-expand strategy to convert initial deployments into portfolio-wide programs and drive recurring growth.
