Job summary

PCI Pharma Services in the San Diego area is seeking a Buyer II (Direct/GMP or Indirect) to provide tactical support to Supply Chain Management across locations. You will help develop and execute manufacturing inventory plans while minimizing costs.

The role requires 3-4 years of related experience including GMP exposure, a business bachelor’s degree, and strong negotiation skills to optimize supplier terms and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Working towards membership of professional body such as ISM, APICs or CIPS.
• Three to four (3-4) years of related experience, including a minimum of 1-2 years in a GMP environment.
• Strategic thinker with ability to align Procurement & Planning to business objectives.
• Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers to achieve favorable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provides tactical support to Supply Chain Management operations.
• Negotiates pricing and contract terms with suppliers to reduce risk and secure favorable terms.
• Evaluates inventory and lead times for GMP materials to ensure availability.
• Monitors purchasing systems for compliance with policies and authorizations.
• Researches suppliers, pricing, and availability of materials and commodities.
• Maintains vendor relationships and monitors OTIF performance.
• Utilizes ERP and other systems to drive automation and improvements.
• Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices.
• Maintains professional conduct with internal and external partners.
