Job summary

Chugach Electric is seeking a Manager of Fuel Supply and Operations in Anchorage to oversee generation fuel resources, including natural gas supply, transportation, and storage, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of power.

The role also covers reconciliation of fuel and economy power transactions, contract administration, and leading a team in a dynamic utility environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
• Five years of progressive supervisory experience in natural gas or utility operations.
• Experience in a utility or union environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fuel supply management for generation facilities by coordinating with dispatchers, fuel suppliers, pipelines, and storage operators.
• Manage fuel nomination, scheduling, and balancing across pipelines and storage systems.
• Develop production cost models, fuel forecasting and annual fuel budget.
• Monitor real-time SCADA information and adjust intraday scheduling as needed.
• Plan staffing, training and development of department personnel; conduct performance reviews.
