J.B. Hunt seeks a Capacity Procurement Representative II in Lowell, Arkansas to strategically negotiate rates with carriers, ensure optimal margins, and drive freight visibility using the Carrier360 platform.

The role involves establishing and maintaining a carrier base, securing timely freight movement, and delivering best-in-class service. It also includes mentoring new team members and collaborating with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or related field is preferred.
• Experience in transportation/logistics and carrier negotiations is expected.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate rates with carriers to meet revenue and margin goals.
• Act as liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers.
• Monitor freight in transit and ensure timely pickup and delivery.
• Tender loads using Carrier360 and maintain shipment records.
• Communicate service issues to internal teams to reduce cost and inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to promote service quality and safety.
• Grow and manage a carrier base to improve coverage and routing.
• Mentor junior team members on processes and best practices.
