J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking a Capacity Procurement Representative to negotiate carrier rates to meet load expectations while protecting margins.

The role involves marketing the Carrier360 platform to carriers to improve efficiency and visibility of freight movement. The incumbent will establish a carrier base and ensure freight is covered timely, delivering best-in-class service execution.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with up to 1 year experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience and ability to work across multiple shifts.
• Strong professional communication skills applied internally and externally.
• Proven experience in establishing and maintaining healthy working relationships.
• Experience in fostering strong customer relationships via delivery on commitments, open communication, and ongoing feedback/improvement.
• Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
• Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Negotiate with carriers for the optimal purchase rate to meet revenue and profit margin goals.
• Act as liaison between internal business stakeholders and carriers.
• Manage all freight in transit by obtaining updates from carriers to monitor movement and ensure on-time pickup and delivery; use Carrier360 to tender loads and maintain records.
• Proactively communicate service failures to internal support teams to minimize cost and inefficiencies.
• Partner with internal teams to promote best in class service and safety.
• Leverage Carrier360 platform to increase efficiency and carrier base.
• Verify authenticity of carriers and tracking prior to scheduled pickup.
• Remain current on supply chain information to understand market trends and negotiate effectively.
• Understand customer service expectations to provide value with transportation solutions and updates.
